Darren Waller Retires from NFL after 10 seasons

Former New York Giants Tight End Announces Retirement

Waller Faced a Hamstring Injury

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller announced his retirement from playing football on Sunday, saying he was facing a hamstring injury.

Waller, 30, played 10 seasons in the NFL, including the last four with the Giants. He had 36 catches for 411 yards and two touchdowns in 2023.

Waller was placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury in August. He had been dealing with the injury since the preseason.

In a statement released on Sunday, Waller said he was "grateful for the opportunity to play in the NFL" and that he was "excited for the next chapter in my life."

Waller was a key part of the Giants' offense in recent years. He was a reliable target for quarterback Daniel Jones and was also a good blocker.
