Mavericks' Fourth-Quarter Surge Falls Short in NBA Finals Game 3
Celtics Take 3-0 Lead
Despite a valiant effort in the fourth quarter, the Dallas Mavericks fell to the Boston Celtics 118-110 in Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals on Saturday night.
The Celtics, who entered the game with a 2-0 series lead, were led by Jayson Tatum's 34 points. Porziņģis led the Mavericks with 24 points.
The Mavericks trailed by 18 points with less than six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, but they rallied to cut the deficit to four points with just over a minute remaining. However, the Celtics held on to secure the victory and move one win away from the franchise's 18th NBA championship.
Game 4 of the series is scheduled for Monday night in Dallas.
