Dangerous Wildlife in the Sunshine State
Florida is known for its diverse wildlife, including some that can be exceptionally dangerous. While alligators often come to mind, other animals, such as jellyfish, spiders, pythons, and sharks, pose significant threats to humans in the state.
Venomous Marine Animals
The boxed jellyfish (Chironex fleckeri) is highly venomous, with stings that can be fatal. This jellyfish is found along the coastlines of Florida and is more deadly than sharks.
Spiders
Two dangerous spiders in Florida are the brown recluse and the southern black widow. The brown recluse's bite can cause severe skin damage, while the southern black widow's venom affects the nervous system.
Dangerous Reptiles and Mammals
